Alika and the double ups will fly into LAX today... Alika will take the first flight out of LA into SAC tomorrow morning (Monday) YAY!
First thing first, we will take him in to see his doctor regarding the injury to his knee and allow him some time to rest.
I assume he will want to continue wrestling the remainder of the summer so long as doctor allows it -- fingers are crossed that it's just healing, rehab and strengthening required. Anything more serious... don't even want to go there.
We will keep you all posted.

Fargo - Women's Wrestling
Congratulations to JESSICA RODRIGUEZ who also placed 5th in the Women's Junior Freestyle division! She's a 2x All-American in 2011! CHEEEEHOOOO!
Fargo - Freestyle Update
Alika went 1-2 in Freestyle at Nationals.
He won his first match by fall/pin.
In his second match, he reinjured his knee.
He was defeated in that match and the following match.
Alika is determined and will continue to train to reach his goals in wrestling.
We are all humbled and grateful for all the sponsorships and support and love we have received from everyone... family, friends, coaches and teammates. We are truly blessed and love you all.

Alika's currently at LAX in the Delta terminal waiting for the double ups to get their boarding passes. They will fly out at noon today to Minnesota then bus up to Fargo, ND. Please follow Alika on TWITTER @alikafoster. He will tweet often.

Training update...
Alika is at Prep today as well working on both styles. Thanks again for all the hospitality and support. After Fargo, he'll continue to wrestle at some SCWAY tournaments throughout the summer. Doing work.
Fargo Update! Good news!
Alika's Fargo trip was based on him qualifying in the top 3 for Greco. We've been notified he's also made the Freestyle team as well. He'll be staying in Fargo for an additional two days to wrestle another style! Congrats Lele, we're really proud of you!

Not for granted...
I've been fortunate to meet a lot of great wrestling families while Alika has been participating in these larger tournaments and trips. I'm very thankful for the texts and calls in between the days and updates on their wrestlers too. Special thanks to Cristina Zanarini from Brentwood. Even with just the little follow up texts here and there -- I didn't feel like an anxious mom by myself. We were both cheering from CA!
All joking aside, most wrestlers that make it to this level train beyond their limits; I know Alika can and does. Wrestlers are not exempt from injury. Just got an update from Brentwood that a wrestler, who Alika was to ride down to LAX with to catch the Delta flight towards Fargo, has had a shoulder separation and will not only be missing out on Fargo but recovering for 8-12 weeks. It was a real reality check. Our prayers to you, Jake. Heal quickly and God Bless.
As for Alika, he will fly out of Sacramento International via Southwest to LAX.
Please keep him in your prayers as he travels and trains as well as all of our athletes. We take those sponsorships anytime!!! =)

Still wrestling...
I'm glad to be home, but I'm still working hard and practicing in preparation for Fargo. I've been so lucky to have my bbb and Rampage families be there for me during weekday practices - thank you. We'll also be attending a mini-camp at Wrestling Prep in San Jose this weekend, then it's more drilling next week and hopefully one more fundraiser at David's Pizza next week. I'll be within 5-7 lbs of my weight by next weekend so don't worry everyone! Stay tuned and follow me on Twitter @alikafoster.
